When I struggle

As Salaamu Alaikum

These past few months have been a struggle of note...I know in in my mind its Allah (swt)'s plan for me to bring me closer...for every trail and tribulation is for the Believer to be tested!

I get that however I find times when I cannot comprehend why did he choose me? I know His love for me is to test me and being human my mind refuses to accept.

Yes Allah (swt) only wants what is best for us and complete submission to Him and Him Alone!

I may not always know the Allah (swt)'s plans for me, the picture below made me see things in a slighty better light :)

I make Dua'a that the Almighty ease the plights of those who suffer in any way Aameem.

A Beautiful Dua'a....

O اللَّه , help me to say words of truth in the face of the mighty....
And to refrain from speaking ill in order to gain the applause of the weak...
And do not let me accuse my adversaries of treachery because their opinions oppose mine...

O اللَّه , should you give me wealth, do not take away my happiness...
And should you give me might, do not take away my wisdom....
And should you give me success do not take away my humility...
And should you give me modesty do not take away my sense of dignity...

O اللَّه, teach me to love others as I love myself...
And teach me to judge myself as I judge others...
And teach me that forgiveness is one of the greatest step towards strength...

O اللَّه , do not curse me with arrogance should I be successful...
And neither with despair and hopelessness should I fail...

O اللَّه, remind me always that failure is the trial that precedes success....
Should you take away my wealth, do let me keep my hopefulness...
And should I fail, do let me keep the power of determination...
And should you take away the blessing of good health do let me keep the blessing of faith...

O اللَّه , should I have harmed others give the courage to apologise...
And should others harm me, do bless me with the courage to forgive...
And should I forget you Ya اللَّه I beg that you should not exclude me from your compassion and clemency...

For you are the Greatest, the Vanquisher, the all Powerful on all things....

`Irbad bin Sariyah (Radiallahu Anhu) reported:

One day Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘alahi wasallam) delivered us a very eloquent Khutbah on account of which eyes shed tears and hearts were full of tears. A man said: “O Prophet of Allah, this is as if it were a parting advice. So advise us”.

He (Sallallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said, “I admonish you to fear Allah, to listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader. Because whosoever among you shall live after me, will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the examples of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to it fast. Beware of new things (in Deen) because every Bid`ah is a misguidance”.

[Riyad-us-Saliheen, The Book of Miscellany, Chapter 16 Observing the Sunnah and the manners of its obedience, Hadith Number 157]

This Hadith stresses piety, obedience to the leader, following in the footsteps of Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘alahi wasallam) and the first four noble caliphs. It strictly forbids innovation in Deen.

This Hadith also reveals the prediction of Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘alahi wasallam) that the Muslim Ummah will become a victim of dissension. He also prescribed the right means to counteract it. The remedy that he has proposed for this problem is that Muslims should never deviate from the path laid for them by him and his righteous successors. This is the touchstone for discovering the truth from the mess of different views.

All the troubles of Muslims would come to an end if they accept this as the one singular criterion of right and wrong.

All praise to Almighty Allah for granting us another Jumma so that we can make use of this
auspicious day to strengthen our Imaan and make dua in huge congregations around the globe.

On this Mubaarak day, Wishing you:

not just a smile but laughter,

not just happiness but pure joy,

not just wealth but Heavens treasures

and not just silence but Divine peace.

Make the remembrance of Allah (SWT) my garment, Ya Allah
Every utterance from my mouth be Your dhikr, Ya Allah
Instead of breath, It should be Your dhikr from my throat, Ya Allah
Let this Dhikr never leave me
And be the last thing on my tongue O Creator.
La iIlaha Illallahu Muhammadur Rasullulah

Read Salaah punctually, read it with care
On judgement day, we will be asked about prayer
That’s the first question, so take this advice
Salaah is the key to paradise

Salaah will separate Muslims from others
Salaah is a blessing which Allah swt gave
It will intercede and protect us in the grave

When it comes eventually, to the day of rising
The believer’s body washed by Wudhu will be shining
For the believers who are regular in offering Salaah
It becomes a light of guidance on the pul-siraat

From eyes that are not restrained and from a tongue that is not tamed

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From a heart that is complacent,

and from a mood that is not patient

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From a soul that is not grateful,

and from a thought that is not lawful

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From a limb that is not humbled,

and from conviction that begins to stumble

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From hoarding every pence,

and slowness in obedience

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From love of material life,

and from ignorance of Eternal life

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From the trials of life and death,

and from the punishment of the grave

I seek refuge in You O Allah!
From the trials of Ad-Dajjal,

and from the torment of the blaze

Grant me wisdom, O Most High! And understanding and strength

Grant me fortitude, O Magnificent! And humility to repent

Grant me light, O Most Merciful! To penetrate my heart

Grant me your Love O Creator!

As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh

The best Greeting there could ever be.

Did you wake up this morning and say "As-Salaamu Alaikum" to your spouse or your child? Or did you greet them with a "Good Morning" or even a casual "hi"?
Have we been teaching our children the importance of greeting each other with salaam? Or when we see them off to school, do we send them off with a 'bye', instead of "As-Salaamu Alaikum", the dua for peace and blessings?
For some of us, this may seem a minor issue. Or it may even be a 'progressive' issue. But, in our haste to 'adapt', we forget that saying "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the best greeting there could ever be.

This was the practice and teaching of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam), the best example for mankind. And it was Allaah Himself that prescribed the manner of greeting among Muslims as "As-Salaamu Alaikum" [not 'salaams' or 'good morning' or 'hey' or 'hi' or whatever]
"When those who believe in Our Ayaat (proofs, verses, signs, etc.) come to you, say: "Salaamun Alaikum" (peace be on you)....." (Surah al-An'aam:54)
Ibn al-Qayyim says:
"Allaah, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Peace, prescribed that the greeting among the people of Islam should be 'As-Salaamu Alaikum', which is better than all the greetings of other nations which include impossible ideas or lies, such as saying, 'May you live for a thousand years,' or things that are not accurate, such as 'An'im sabaahan (Good morning),' or actions that are not right, such as bowing in greeting. Thus the greeting of salaam is better than all of these, because it has the meaning of safety which is life, without which nothing else can be achieved...." (Badaa'i' al-Fawaa'id)


"As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the best Dua
The word 'salaam' comes from the root 'salema', which implies to disassociate oneself from evil and harm. Thus, when we greet other Muslims, the greeting means: "No harm shall come to you from me (may no evil come to you, may no harm come to you)
And since As-Salaam is also one of the Beautiful Names of Allah, the greeting of salaam also means, "May the blessing of His Name descend upon you, may Allah be with you, may Allah guide and protect you."
Subhaan Allah! What a beautiful greeting!
Yet, it is utterly tragic to see that some of us have exchanged something so beautiful for something ugly, when we stopped saying Assalaamu Alaikum and started with 'Good Morning' or 'Hi'. It is especially sad to see some of our youth, who don't even know how to say the words clearly and properly. Some say ' Saa kum", some just mumble something incomprehensible under their breath and some don't even bother to say anything at all! And if they are being really nice to you, they just might throw you a 'hey' from afar.
And even those of us who do say salaam, some of us are so stingy or hesitant in doing so. Although, at the time of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) the Sahaabah would compete with each other to see who could give salaams first. They would go to the market just to say salaam to people they knew and to the people they did not know.
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "The best of the two persons is the one who begins with salaam." (Related by an-Nawawi)

BENEFITS OF "AS-SALAAMU ALAIKUM"

1."As-Salaamu Alaikum" is a means of immense reward
A man passed by the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) while he was sitting with others, and said "As-salaamu 'alaykum." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] ten hasanaat." Another man passed by and said "As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah)." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] twenty hasanaat." Another man passed by and said "As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah and His blessings)." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] thirty hasanaat."


2."As-Salaamu Alaikum" is an aspect of Imaan
Once a man asked the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) about which aspect of Islam was best. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) replied: "Feeding the hungry, and saying salaam to those you know and those you don't know." (Bukhaari and Muslim)


3. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is a means of entering Jannah
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you about something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread salaam (the greeting of peace) among you." (Muslim)


4. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" gets rid of sins
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) also said, "When two Muslims meet (give salaam), and shake hands, they are forgiven their sins before they part (with each other)." (Abu Dawud)


5. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the greeting of the people of Jannah
"Then, those that feared their Lord shall be driven in companies into Paradise. When they draw near its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say to them: "Salaamun 'Alaikum" (Peace be upon you), you have done well. Enter and live in it for ever." (Surah Zumar:73)


6. Even Allah says "As-Salaamu Alaikum"
Allah sends His Salaam upon the people who believe in Him, especially the prophets such as Nuh, Ibraheem, Ismaeel, Musa, etc.(Surah as- Saa ffaat) as well as other pious people.
Jibreel came to house of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and Khadeeja was there. Jibreel said: "Allah send s his salaam to Khadeeja." The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "O Khadeeja, Allah is sending His salaams to you." She said, "Allah is As-Salaam. And upon you O Jibreel, be as-salaam and upon you Rasulullah be as-salaam." [Bukhaari]

It is obligatory to return the greeting of "As-Salaamu Alaikum"
"The Muslim has five rights over his fellow-Muslim: he should return his salaams, visit him when he is sick, attend his funeral, accept his invitation, and pray for mercy for him [say "Yar ha'mu kallaah"] when he sneezes." (Bukhaari, Muslim)
We should say "As-Salaamu Alaikum" when we enter our homes
"When you enter houses, greet (with peace) one another with a salutation from Allah, blessed and good. As such Allah makes clear to you His verses so that you understand." (Surah an-Nur: 61)


"As-Salaamu Alaikum" is also to be said at time of leaving
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "When one of you joins a gathering, he should greet those present; and when he leaves them he should salute them, because the first salutation is not better than the last one." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidi)

Why would you want to give up something beautiful for something ugly??
It is sad to see that when it comes to the matters of Dunya, we strive our utmost to give our families and friends the best. Yet when it comes to greetings, we forget the most beautiful and comprehensive greeting "As-Salaamu Alaikum", which is also a prayer....a prayer of peace and blessing...of security and protection from all harm and all evil.....a blessing that Allah Himself send s down to His beloved slaves......a greeting of the people of Jannah itself.

OH ALLAH: We ask for mercy from You by which You will guide our hearts,
settle our affairs, remove our worries, protect us from what is unseen to us,make our faces radiant, purify our deeds, inspire us with wisdom, avert calamities from us protect us from every evil in this world and the hereafter! INSHALLAH, AAMEEN!!!

Ever played monopoly? Funny how good it feels to be the winner, owning the best streets and having a few hotels while the cash is flowing, but at the end of the game, the winner has to put all the money, hotels and houses back into the box.

The same applies in life, when you die everything has to go back into the box. That brings up the question of "what is success?" To have all the money in the world? To be a director of a company? To drive the most expensive car?

NO, it cant be, because at the end, everything has to go back into the box....and when you get to the gate these things will not be your ticket to enter the Kingdom of Jannah.

So, what is success? To seek the pleasure of Allah first and all other things will be added unto you (freedom, happiness, health, unity, prosperity, peace) and the bonus is when you die, you will have eternal life.

The wonderful place that has been created by the Almighty Creator for the Ummah of Nabi (Sallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is `Jannah' the abode of Paradise. The Almighty Creator undoubtedly is the Only Almighty one 'Allah'. The last of the Messengers is Rasulullah (Sallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and the last Holy Book sent with him is the Holy Qura’an.

People of the world...Strive hard! This world is but a temporary abode! Become a practicing Muslims and surely we all will cross the Bridge of Siraat-ul-Mustakeem at the speed of lightning into the ever lasting wonderful place - Jannat-ul-Firdowse, Aameen. Allah (swt) has created for each of us this wonderful abode!

May Allah (swt) keeps us guided and grant us each entrance into Jannat-ul-Firdowse, Aameen.

May the Almighty bestow His choicest blessings on you today and always. May His Angels guide You every step you may take, taking away all burdens, only leaving goodness and lasting kindness in your path, Aameen

The Almighty is closest to his creation during the last phase of the night. Remember Him during this period.

Every prayer must be performed as if its one's last prayer in this world.

May ALLAH give us the strength on this day,
May ALLAH forgive us for all our sins on this day,
May ALLAH protect us from evil on this day,
May ALLAH give us health on this day,
May ALLAH keep us safe so that we may reach our destination,
May ALLAH accept all our DUA'As on this day,
AND LASTLY
Let us make SHUKR to ALLAH for everything he has done for us.

What Dua'a should be made in Rajab?

اللَّهُمَّ بارِكْ لَناَ فِيْ رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ
Allaahumma baarik lana fi Rajab wa Sha'baan. Wa ballighnaa ramadhaan.
Meaning: O Allah, grant us Barakah (blessings) in Rajab and Shabaan and allow us to reach Ramadhaan and Allah knows best.

Happy moments, praise Allah
Difficult moments, seek Allah
Quiet moments, worship Allah
Painful moments, trust Allah
Every moment, thank Allah

wasallam) tying two stones to his stomach in the battle of Khandaq.

When becoming angry, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam)'s control of anger on the martyrdom of his beloved Uncle Hamza.

When bleeding from any part of the body, remember the Prophet
(sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s body covered in blood on his return from Ta'if.

When feeling lonely, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhiwasallam)'s seclusion in Mount Hira

When feeling tired in Salaat, remember the Prophet (sallallahualayhi wasallam)'s blessed feet in Tahajjud.

When being prickled with thorns, remember the Prophet (sallallahualayhi wasallam)'s pain from Abu Lahab's wife.

When being troubled by neighbours, remember the old woman who would empty rubbish on the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

When losing a child, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhiwasallam)'s son, Ibrahim.

When beginning a long journey, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s long journey to Madinah.

When going against a Sunnah, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s intercession, (Ummati,Ummati, Ummati) (My Ummah).

When sacrificing an animal, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam) (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s sacrifice of 63 animals for his Ummah.

Before shaving your beard, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam)'s face rejecting the two beardless Iranians.

When falling into an argument with your wife, remember the Prophet
(sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s encounter with Aisha and Hafsa.

When experiencing less food in the house, remember the Prophet
(sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s days of poverty.

When experiencing poverty, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam)'s advice to Ashaab-e-Suffa (People of Suffa).

When losing a family member, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam)'s departure from this world.

When becoming an orphan, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s age at six.

When sponsoring an orphan, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)'s sponsor for Zaid ibn Haritha.

When fearing an enemy, remember the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi
wasallam)'s saying to Abu Bakr in Mount Thour

Whatever situation you may find yourself in, remember your role model, the best of creation:
Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Jummah Yet Again??!

As I get to bed past midnight I realise that tomorrow another Jummah will dawn upon us...so I reflect upon the weeks that seems to fly by and the week that has just past...All that I have done and yet to do, seems like time is too short and before you know the days over!

Hmm why is it that there seems to be no Barkhat in time neither any value in the things we do....its like time just slips aways and its already the end of the month when it just began...

Anyway on a lighter note, I look forward to my weekend which entails some shopping for our new home ;)
seems like that's all we've been doing since February is window shopping and than doing some really serious shopping....okay time to sign off till later!
