Paradise Delights (JANNAH)

Paradise Delights (JANNAH)
★•——•★•——•★

The people of Paradise will enter in the most perfect and beautiful form, in the image of their father, Adam (as), for there is no human form more perfect and beautiful than that of Adam, whom Allah (swt) created very tall. He was as tall as a great palm tree, sixty cubits tall.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "Allah created Adam in his complete shape and form (directly), sixty cubits (about 30 meters) in height. When He created him, He said (to him), "Go and greet that group of angels sitting there, and listen what they will say in reply to you, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your offspring." Adam (went and) said, 'As-Salaamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you).' They replied, 'AsSalamu-'Alaika wa Rahmatullah (Peace and Allah's Mercy be on you) So they increased 'Wa Rahmatullah' The Prophet added 'So whoever will enter Paradise, will be of the shape and form of Adam. Since then the creation of Adam's (offspring) (i.e. stature of human beings is being diminished continuously) to the present time."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 008, Book 074, Hadith Number 246.)

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said: The (members of the) first group which would get into Paradise will have their faces as bright as stars in the sky. They would neither pass water, nor void excrement, nor will they suffer from catarrh, nor will they spit, and their combs would be made of gold, and their sweat will be musk, the fuel of their brazier will be aloes, and their wives will be large-eyed maidens and their form would be alike as one single person after the form of their father (Adam) sixty cubits tall.
(Sahih Muslim Book 040, Hadith Number 6795.)

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said: "The people of Paradise will enter Paradise hairless, looking as if their eyes are ringed with kohl, aged thirty three."
(Tirmidhi)

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "Sleep is the brother of death; the people of Paradise will not sleep"
(Silsilatul Hadith Saheehah 3/74, no. 1087)

—•► The Superiority of Paradise Over the Pleasures of This World

Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) drew a comparison between the pleasures of this world and the joys of Paradise, and explained that the delights of Paradise are far superior to this world's pleasures. The Qur'an speaks at length denouncing this world of instant, fleeting pleasures and stating that the rewards with Allah as far better, to encourage man to strive hard for success in the next world:

Allah says: ► Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them the splendor of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.
Surah TAHA chapter 20 verse 131

Allah says: ► Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons; heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to). Say: shall I give you glad tidings of things far better than those? For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord with rivers flowing beneath; therein is their eternal home; with companions pure (and holy) and the good pleasure of Allah. For in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.―
Surah AL~E~IMRAN chapter 3 verse 14-15

There are many reasons why the delights of Paradise are superior to the pleasures of this Dunya'a; Amongst them:

(i) The Pleasures of this world are Fleeting:

Allah says: ► Hast thou not turned thy thought to those who were told to hold back their hands (from fight) but establish regular prayers and spend in regular charity? When (at length) the order for fighting was issued to them behold! a section of them feared men as―or even more than―they should have feared Allah: they said: "Our Lord! why hast Thou ordered us to fight? Wouldst Thou not grant us respite to our (natural) term, near (enough)?" Say: “Short is the enjoyment of this world: the Hereafter is the best for those who do right: never will ye be dealt with unjustly in the very least!
Surah AN NISA chapter 4 verse 77

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) illustrated the inferiority of this Dunya’a by comparing it to what Allah has prepared in Paradise, "By Allah, this world in comparison with the Hereafter is nothing more than as if one of you put his finger" - and he gestured with his forefinger - "in the sea; let him see how much water he would retrieve"
(Sahih Muslim)

A finger dipped in the ocean would not even pick up one drop; this is how little this world is worth when compared with the Aakhirah. Because these pleasures are so insignificant, Allah (swt) has rebuked those who prefer the pleasures of this world to the joys of the Aakhirah:

Allah says: ► O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter.
Surah AT TAWBA chapter 9 verse 38

(ii) The Hereafter is also better from the perspective of quality.

The clothing, food, drink, jewellery and palaces of the people of Paradise will be far superior to their counterparts in this world. There is in fact no room for comparison, as even the smallest space in Paradise is better than this world and all that is in it.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "The space of a whip in Paradise is better than this world and everything in it"
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Prophet (pbuh) said, "The space of the bow of any one of you in Paradise is better than all that the sun rises upon"
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

The comparison between the women of Paradise and the women of this earth serves to demonstrate the superiority of that which is in Paradise.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "If a woman from the people of Paradise were to look at this earth, she would light up everything between it and fill it with her fragrance; the veil on her head is better than this world and all that is in it"
(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

(iii) Paradise is free from all the impurities and disappointments of this world.

Eating and drinking in this life results in the need for excretion and its associated unpleasant odors. If a person drinks wine in this world, he loses his mind. Women in this world menstruate and give birth, which are sources of pain and hurt. Paradise is free from all of these discomforts: its people will not urinate, defecate, spit or suffer from catarrh.

Allah says: ► Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain― Crystal-white of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.
Surah AS SAAFFAT chapter 37 verse 45-47

Allah says: ► An image of the Garden which is promised to the righteous [who fear Allah]: in it there are rivers of water which will never spoil and rivers of milk whose taste will never change and rivers of wine, delightful to all who drink it, and rivers of honey of undiluted purity; in it they will have fruit of every kind and forgiveness from their Lord. Is that like those who will be in the Fire timelessly, forever, with boiling water to drink which lacerates their bowels?
Surah MUHAMMED chapter 47 verse 15

The women of Paradise are pure and free from menstruation, nifaas [post natal bleeding] and all the other impurities suffered by women in this world.

Allah says: ► But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is Gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therefrom they say: "Why this is what we were fed with before" for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions pure (and holy); and they abide therein (forever).
Surah AL BAQARA chapter 2 verse 25

The hearts of the people of Paradise will be pure, their speech will be good, their deeds righteous. There will be no hurtful, upsetting, offensive or provocative talk there, for Paradise is free of all worthless words and deeds.

Allah says: ► They shall there exchange, one with another, a cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill.
Surah AT TUR chapter 52 verse 23

The only speech that is heard there is good, sincere and pure, free from all the shameful shortcomings of earthly speech:

Allah says: ► No Vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth―
Surah AN NABA chapter 78 verse 35

Allah says: ► They will not there hear any vain discourse, but only salutations of peace: and they will have therein their sustenance, morning and evening.
Surah MARYAM chapter 19 verse 62

Allah says: ► Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity:
Surah AL GHASHIYA chapter 88 verse 11

Allah says: ► No frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill― Only the saying "Peace! Peace."
Surah AL WAQIA chapter 56 verse 25-26

For this reason, when the people of Paradise have been saved from the Fire, they will be detained of a bridge between Paradise and Hell, where they will be purified by settling any wrongs that may be outstanding, so that they may enter Paradise, pure of heart and soul, free from any resentment, envy or other negative emotions of this world.
Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said: "There will be no hatred of resentment among them, their hearts will be as one, and they will glorify Allah, morning and evening"
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Allah says: ► And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
Surah AL HIJR chapter 15 verse 47

(iv) The Pleasures of This World are Transient Whilst the Joys of the Hereafter are Lasting and Eternal :

Allah says: ► The parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised!― beneath it flow rivers: perpetual is the enjoyment thereof and the shade therein: such is the End of the Righteous; and the End of Unbelievers is the Fire.
Surah AR RAD chapter 13 verse 35

Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) gave an example of how quickly this world will pass away:

Allah says: ►Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: it is like the rain which We send down from the skies: the earth's vegetation absorbs it, But soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah Who prevails over all things. Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: but the things that endure, Good Deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best as (the foundation for) hopes.
Surah AL KAHF chapter 18 verse 45-46

(v) Seeking to Enjoy the Pleasures of this World and Neglecting the Hereafter Will be Followed By Regret and Sorrow When One Enters the Fire of Hell.

Allah says: ► Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception.
Surah AL~E~IMRAN chapter 3 verse 185

★★ ★
—•► The Food and Drink of the People of Paradise

Allah says: ► And with fruits, any that they may select; And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire.
Surah AL WAQIA chapter 56 verse 20-21

Allah says: ► To them will be passed round, dishes and goblets of gold: there will be there all that the souls could desire all that the eyes could delight in: and ye shall abide therein (for aye).
Surah AZ ZUKHRUF chapter 43 verse 71

Allah says: ► The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"
Surah AL HAAQQA chapter 69 verse 23-24

We have also mentioned above that in Paradise there will be a sea of water, a sea of wine, a sea of milk and a sea of honey, and the rivers of Paradise will flow out of these seas. There will be also many springs in Paradise, and its people will drink from these seas, rivers and springs.

(i) The Wine of the People of Paradise

One of the drinks that Allah will bestow on the people of Paradise will be wine. The wine of Paradise is free of all the troubles and problems that characterize the wine of this world, which makes people lose their minds, and causes headaches, stomach aches and other physical disorders, or which may have something wrong in the way it is made, or its color, etc. But the wine of Paradise is free from all such faults; it is pure and beautiful.

Allah says: ► Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness). With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:
Surah AL WAQIA chapter 56 verse 17-19

Allah says: ► Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: The seal thereof will be musk: and for this let those aspire, who have aspirations:
Surah AL MUTAFFIFIN chapter 83 verse 25-26

This wine is sealed or covered, and at the end of it, the drinker will find the scent of musk.

(ii) The first food of the people of Paradise

The first food which Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) will present to the people of Paradise will be the caudate [extra] lobe of fish-liver.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will be like one loaf of bread, which Allah will turn around in His hands, just as any of you prepares bread whilst he is travelling, to offer it as food to the people of Paradise." A Jewish man came and said, "May the Most Merciful bless you, O Abul-Qaasim. Shall I not tell you what food [nuzul] will be offered to the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "Of course." The Jew said that the earth would be a single loaf of bread, just as the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) looked at us and smiled so broadly that his back teeth were visible, then he said, “Shall I not tell you of their food? Balam and noon [a large fish]". They asked, "What is that?" He said, "A bull and noon seventy thousand people will eat from the caudate [extra] lobes of their livers"
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

(iii) The food and drink of the people of Paradise does not produce any impure excrement.

It might cross one's mind that the food and drink of Paradise might produce the same effect as the food and drink of this world, namely excrement, urine, mucus, saliva, and so on. But this is not the case. Paradise is a place that is free from all impurities, and its people are free of all the blemishes of people of this world.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said, "The first group of my Ummah to enter Paradise will be as beautiful as the full moon and those that come after them will be like the brightest shining star, and those that follow them will be ranked according to their status. They will not defecate, urinate or blow their noses or spit."
(Sahih Muslim)

(iv) Why will the People of Paradise Eat and Drink and Comb their Hair?

If the people of Paradise are to abide there forever, and it is free from all discomfort, pain and sickness, if there is no hunger or thirst there, and no impurities or dirt, then why will the people of Paradise eat and drink, and wear perfume and comb their hair? "The luxuries and clothing of the people of Paradise will not be for the purpose of warding off potential pains; they will not eat because of hunger or drink because of thirst, or wear perfume because of some offensive odor, because Paradise is a never-ending succession of delight and joy.

Allah says: ► "There is therein (enough provision) for thee not to go hungry nor to go naked" "Nor to suffer from thirst nor from the sun's heat."
Surah TAHA chapter 20 verse 118-119

The wisdom behind it [food and drink, etc.] is so that Allah will introduce Paradise to them in ways similar to the good things that they enjoyed on earth, but He will increase it in ways known only to Him."

He will say, "Of course, but I love to grow things." So he will sow the seeds and in the blinking of an eye the plant will grow and its fruit will ripen and become like mountains. Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) will say, "Here it is. O son of Adam nothing satisfies you!" The Bedouin said, "By Allah! you won’t find him except he is from Quraysh or the Ansaar for these are the people that love to grow things. As for us, we don't grow anything!" The Prophet Muhammad ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) laughed."

Surah AR RAHMAN chapter 55 verse 70-72

The women are not like the women of this world. They are free of al-Hayd [menstruation], an-Nifaas [post-natal bleeding], spittle, mucus, urine and stools.

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) said, "...the marrow of whose leg-bones will be visible through the flesh because of their extreme beauty."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

Prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) said: "If one of the women of Paradise were to look at the people of this world, everything in between them would be lit up and filled with her fragrance. The veil on her head is better than this world and everything in it."

—•► The People of Paradise Will laugh at the People of Fire

After Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال) admits the people of Paradise to Paradise, they will call out to their opponents among the kuffaar in Hell, rebuking and scolding them:

Allah says: ► The Companions of the Garden will call out to the Companions of the Fire: "We have indeed found the promises of our Lord to us true: have you also found your Lord's promises true?" They shall say "yes"; but a crier shall proclaim between them: "the curse of Allah is on the wrong- doers;―
Surah AL ARAF chapter 7 verse 44

The kuffaar used to dispute with the believers in this world, making fun of them and insulting them, but on that Day the believers will be victorious: they will be in a state of everlasting joy, looking at the wrongdoers and making fun of them:

Allah says: ► Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): Thou wilt recognize in their Faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: The seal thereof will be musk: and for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; And whenever they saw them, they would say "Behold! these are the people truly, astray!" But they had not been sent as Keepers over them! But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers. On Thrones (of Dignity) They will command (a sight) (of all things). Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did?
Surah AL MUTAFFIFIN chapter 83 verse 22-36

By Allah, the kuffaar will finally get the punishment that they deserve, a punishment that fits their crimes. The believer who is now in the luxury of Paradise will remember that colleague or friend who used to encourage him to follow kufr in this world and called him to embrace those misguided principles that would have placed him in the ranks of the kuffaar and enemies of Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ). He will tell his companions about that former colleague, and tell them to look at him and his punishment. When he sees how he is being punished, he will realize the extent of the blessing that Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) has bestowed upon him, and how Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) has saved him from a similar fate. Then he will address his former companion and rebuke him:

Allah says: ► Then they will turn to one another and question one another. One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth) "Who used to say `What! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the truth (of the Message)? " `When we die and become dust and bones shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?' " (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. He said: "By Allah! Thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! "Is it (the case) that we shall not die "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" Verily this is the supreme achievement! For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive.

—•► Tasbeeh And Takbeer Are Among The Delights Of The People Of Paradise

Paradise is the abode of reward and delight, not of trials and testing. Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ described the first group to enter Paradise and said, "They will glorify Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال) morning and evening."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

—•► The Conclusion Of Their Prayer Will Be Al-Hamdulillaahi Rabbil-Aalameen
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
The believers will pass through the turmoil of the Day of Judgement, then they will cross as-Siraat [the bridge over Hell] and will witness its horrors. Then Allah ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتعال ) will admit them to gardens of delight in Paradise, after removing all grief and sorrow from their hearts. They will see the wonders that Allah has prepared for them in Paradise and they will raise their voices in praise and glorification of Allah because He will have lifted their sorrow, fulfilled His promise to them, and caused them to inherit Paradise:

Allah says: ► And they will say: "Praise be to Allah Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for Our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Ready to appreciate (service): "Who has out of His Bounty, settled us in a Home that will last: neither toil nor sense of weariness shall touch us therein."
Surah FATIR chapter 35 verse 34-35

Allah says: ► They will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has truly fulfilled His promise to us, and has given us (this) land in heritage: we can dwell in the Garden as we will: how excellent a reward for those who work (righteousness)!" And thou wilt see the angels surrounding the Throne (Divine) on all sides, singing Glory and Praise of their Lord. The Decision between them (at Judgment) will be in (perfect) justice. And the cry (on all sides) will be "Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds!"
Surah AZ ZUMAR chapter 39 verse 74-75

Allah says: ► (This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee O Allah!" and "Peace" will be their greeting therein! And the close of their cry will be: "Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds!"

Ibn al-Qayyim said, in regards to the description of the Paradise and the delights that it contains:

“And if you ask about its ground and its soil , then it is of musk and saffron.

And if you ask about its roof , then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold and silver . And if you ask about its trees , then it does not contain a single tree except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.
And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers , then there are rivers of milk who’s taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is Tasneem , ginger, and Kaafoor .

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like a concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in buildings that have rivers running underneath them.

And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky , then look at the shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of silk and gold.

And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest silk laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty , then they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years in the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing of their wives from among the Hoor al-’Ayn , and better than that are the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and full-breasted and have had the liquid of youth flow through their limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it, light shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her love, then say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights; he sees his face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking into a polished mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her muscles and bones; if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she would fill what is between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful wind, and the mouths of the creation would glorify, praise, and exclaim greatness, and everything between the East and the West would be adorned for her, and every eye would be shut from everything but her, and the light of the Sun would be outshone just as the light of the Sun outshines the light of the stars, and everyone on the face of the Earth would believe in the Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and Protects all the exists.

And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from an umbilical cord, childbirth and menses, and pure of mucous, saliva, urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his desire, and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has touched her before of either humans or Jinn .

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face – free from any resemblance or likeness to anything – as you see the Sun in the middle of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the day that the caller will call: ‘O People of Paradise! Your Lord – Blessed and Exalted – requests you to visit Him, so come to visit Him!’ So they will say: ‘We hear and obey!’

Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all meet – and none of them will turn down the request of the caller – the Lord – Blessed and Exalted – will order His Chair to be brought there. Then, pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls, gemstone, gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on sheets of musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs above them are given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting and are secure in their places, and the caller calls: ‘O People of Paradise! You have an appointment with Allah in which He wishes to reward you!’ So they will say: ‘And what is that reward? Has He not already made our faces bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into Paradise, and pushed us away from the Fire?’

And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold: the Compeller – Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names – has come to them from above them and majestified them and said: ‘O People of Paradise! Peace be upon you!’ So, this greeting will not be responded to with anything better than: ‘O Allah! You are Peace, and from You is Peace! Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!’ So the Lord – Blessed and Exalted – will laugh to them and say: ‘O People of Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen Me? This is the Day of Increase!’

So, they will all give the same response: ‘We are pleased, so be pleased with us!’ So, He will say: ‘ O People of Paradise! If I were not pleased with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My Paradise! So, ask of Me!’ So, they will all give the same response: ‘Show us your Face so that we may look at it!’ So, the Lord – Mighty and Majestic – will remove his covering and will majestify them and will cover them with His Light, which, if Allah – the Exalted – had not Willed not to burn them, would have burned them.

And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except that his Lord – the Exalted – will speak to him and say: ‘Do you remember the day that you did this and that?’ and He will remind him of some of his bad deeds in the Worldly life, so he will say: ‘O Lord! Will you not forgive me?’ So, He will say: ‘Of course! You have not reached this position of yours (in Paradise) except by my forgiveness.’

So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife…

Allah says: ► Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty)― Looking towards their Lord;
