Rajab

As'salaamu'alaykum

Rajab is the seventh month of the Islamic calendar. When the moon of Rajab was sighted Rasulullah (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) used to read the following Dua'a:

Allaahumma baarik lanaa fii rajab wa sha'baan wa balligh-naa ramadhaan
Oh Allah! grant us blessings in the month of Rajab and Shabaan, and take us forth to the month of Ramadhaan

This Dua'a should be recited regularly in the month of Rajab and Shabaan. Rajab indicates the nearness of the Mubarak month of Ramadhaan. Hence, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) would express his eagerness to be blessed with the month of Ramadhaan from Rajab.
We should therefore become more inclined towards Ibaadat in these months.
In order to enter Ramadhaan in the best possible manner, one has to prepare himself in the months of Rajab and Shabaan.
It has been said that Rajab is the month to sow seeds (good actions),
Shabaan is the month in which we should water those seeds (with tears of sorrow) and
Ramadhaan is the month in which we reap the harvest.

Please do remember my family & I in your duas as I will do the same,

Fi amaanillah (I leave you in the protection of Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala)

Jazakallah

A Point to Ponder on this Jummah

As-Salaamu-Alaikum & Jummah Mubarak

I make Dua'a that you are all in the best of health and Imaan. You can't get away from the news of the death of Michael Jackson ~ news spread across the World like wildfire, put the TV on its' headline news, surf the net it’s the 1st thing you see and the next few weeks are going to be dominated by the world mourning this Singer.

So, the question to ask yourself now: Who will be Next? Me or You? What is our direction in life and are we truly focused for the hereafter and the entrance of the grave? Look at this man, he had everything, from cars to mansions and fame. What's left? Nothing. He won’t be taking his bank balance, his cars or his mansion with him.

We really need to be focused on what we are doing in this world. It has now become so competitive that we have become more and more materialistic, family values and respect no longer exist and we can’t forgive each other. Why? Think about it.

Blood brothers ands sisters are no longer in talking terms because the Shaitaan has overcome our minds due to jealousy, greed and ignorance. Its not worth it…you are not going to take anything with you except your good deeds, your prayers, your fasting and your intentions. Purify your heart now.

Lead a simple life. Don’t plan far too much ahead. Don’t end up working all your life so hard that you forget to give to the poor and needy and you have become isolated from your family due to financial ambitions. Who knows if you will even make it to 50? Allah (swt) knows best.

Michael Jacksons death should now bring us up to a Wake Up call. Go to the Masjid, sit on your Mussallah make Taubah Namaz and ask your creator for forgiveness. Make the intention for Hajj. Help the poor and needy. Do something much more positive in life that will save you from the Azaab (torment) of the Qabr (grave). Read your daily Salaah, Read the beautiful words of the Qura'an, Adhere to the Sunnah of our Beloved Nabi (SAW) and do something for your Aakirah (hereafter). Go to your brothers and sisters, ask for Maaf now and do it for the sole pleasure of Allah (swt)... Forgive and forget.

Remember the Ummah of Nabi (saw), the sick, weak, oppressed as well as our Marhoomeen in your Dua'as...

Fi amaanillah (I leave you in the protection of Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala)

H1N1 Flu Virus

Makkah pilgrim has H1N1 flu
6/25/2009 2:09:22 PM

Cairo - Egypt has confirmed the first H1N1 flu case in an Egyptian returning from Saudi Arabia after performing the Muslim pilgrimage, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

The 28-year-old man was found to have contracted the A(H1N1) virus during Umra, to Makkah, health ministry spokesperson Abdel Rahman Shahin said, quoted by the state-owned daily Al-Akhbar.

"The young man, who arrived in Egypt on Tuesday, was transferred to hospital and is now in stable condition," Shahin said.

Health ministry officials had warned of the dangers posed by H1N1 flu to millions of Muslim pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Egypt's top cleric, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, said he would not issue a decree barring Egyptians from making the pilgrimage, but health officials said all returning pilgrims would be quarantined.

Cairo has so far reported 44 H1N1 flu cases, of whom 13 are still in hospital receiving treatment.

The World Health Organisation in a global update on Wednesday reported 55 867 laboratory-confirmed cases of the A(H1N1) virus in 109 countries and 238 human deaths from the disease since late March.

Good Morning

Sunnah Practises of Nabi (SAW)

Muhammad Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam cared a lot for his family, seeing that no one is inconvenienced due to him.

Hence if he had to leave the house at night he would get up silently, put on his shoes with out a sound, open the door and leave quietly. In the same manner he would enter silently so that those who are asleep are not disturbed.

SANHA, NIHT, ICSA...MJC

Salaams Dear Readers,

I have this nagging question: How does one decide as to what is Halaal & Haraam when our National so-called "Halaal" bodies are constantly fighting?

At some point a certain franchise / product is deemed Halaal by one organisation and the next its status has changed to Haraam, all because one body certifies it...and the other not

What are you views on this...?

PS no personal attacks on anyone, I just want your honest views on this matter!

Worth Reading

As Salaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah

Abu Dharr Jundub Ibn Janada narrated from the Prophet (saw) related what Allah (SWT) said,
"O my slaves! I have forbidden injustice to Myself and I have made it unlawful between you, so do not wrong one another.

O My slaves! All of you are misguided except those whom I guide, so seek My guidance and I will guide you.

O My slaves! All of you are hungry except those I feed, so ask Me for food and I will feed you.

O MY slaves! All of you are naked except those that I clothe, so ask Me for clothing and I will clothe you.

O My slaves! You make mistakes by day and night and I forgive all wrong actions, so ask for My forgiveness and I will forgive you.

O My slaves! You will never attain to My harm so as to be able to harm me and you will never attain to My benefit so as to benefit Me.

O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the Jinn and all the men among you possessed the heart of the most god-fearing man among you, that would not increase My kingdom in any way.

O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the Jinn and all the men among you possessed the heart of the most evil man among you, that would not decrease My kingdom in any way.

O My slaves! If the first and last of you, all the Jinn and all the men among you, were to stand in a single place and ask of Me, I could give to every man what he wants without decreasing what I have any more than a needle when it enters the sea.

O My slaves! It is your actions for which I call you to account and then repay you in full. So anyone who finds good should praise Allah and anyone who finds something else should blame none but himself." (Muslim)

Pious Woman Teaches Man Etiquette

Muhammad ibn Sulaiman al-Qurashi says that he was once walking on the road to Yemen when he came across a young boy who was standing on the road. He was wearing earings, and each earing contained a jewel which made his face shine. He was singing some couplets in the praise of Allah.

Muhammad continues : "I went up to him and greeted."
He replied, "I will not return your greeting until you fulfil the right I have upon you."
I replied, "What right are you talking about?"
He replied, "I follow the teachings of the friend of Allah, Ibrahim Alaihis Salaam. I do not have breakfast nor supper

every day until I walk a mile or two in search of a guest."

I accepted his invitation for a meal. He was exceedingly pleased and I followed him. We continued walking until we
came to a tent made of animal hair. As we walked up to it he called out, "O my sister!"
From inside the tent a young girl replied, "Yes. I am present."
He exclaimed, "Our guest has arrived."
She replied, "Can you please wait a while so that I can express gratitude to Allah for sending a guest to us."

She then proceeded to perform two rakaats of Salaah expressing her appreciation to Allah. The young boy then ushered me towards the tent. I entered and he made me sit down. He took a knife and proceeded to slaughter a goat.

As I was sitting in the tent my gaze fell upon the young girl. She was exceedingly beautiful. I continued staring at her stealthily.

She noticed my glances and said, "Please stop! Do you not know that the master of Yathrib, the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, has mentioned that a lustful gaze is adultery of the eyes. I do not wish to rebuke you, but I would like to teach you some etiquette so that you do not cast a gaze towards me again."

When it was time to sleep, my young host and I slept outside while the young girl slept in the tent. But, the entire
night I could hear somebody reciting Quran in a mellodious and sweet voice. When morning dawned upon us I
asked the young boy, "Whose voice was that?"

He answered, "That was my sister. She remains awake the entire night."
I remarked, "Young boy, you should have remained awake the entire night instead of her. Being a woman she is

naturally weaker than you."
He smiled and said, "Do you not know that Allah has blessed her with doing so and has not granted me the same

blessing." (Rawdhatul Uqala)

Lesson
May Allah Ta'ala be pleased with such sterling Muslim women whose remarkable anecdotes grace the pages of Islamic history. Their beauty is true beauty. Film actresses and fashion models whose lives revolve around sin are but stones compared to these gems.

Repentance Draws Allah's Mercy

During the time of Musa Alaihis Salaam, the Bani Isra'il were afflicted with a severe drought. Together, they begged Allah for rain but it was of no avail. The heat became more intense and the skies remained cloudless.

Musa Alaihis Salaam then cried out to Allah, "O Allah, if my status is nothing to you then I beseech you by the grace of Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to please grant us rain."

Allah sent a revelation down to him: "Your status is noble in My sight, however, there is person amongst you who has disobeyed Me for forty years. It is because of him that I am holding back the rains from you."

Musa Alaihis Salaam stood up and addressed the congregation, "O sinner who has disobeyed Allah for forty years, please leave this gathering."

The sinner said to himself, "If I stand up in this gathering to leave, the entire Bani Isra'il will realise that I am the guilty one." He lowered his head in shame and said, "O my Allah, I beg Your forgiveness."

Immediately the rain came down in torrents.

Musa Alahis Salaam asked, " O Allah, why did You send us rain?"

Allah replied, "Due to the sinner who repented."

Musa Alaihis Salaam asked, "O Allah, reveal his identity to me."

Allah answered, "When I did not reveal his condition as a sinner, how can I now expose him when he has sincerely repented?" (Nuzhatul Majalis)

Lesson

1. Sins are an obstacle to the acceptance of dua.
2. Allah is Sattaar. He conceals the sins of man out of His kindness.
3. Allah is Ghafoor. He forgives the sins of man when man turns in repentence. When man repents sincerely Allah grants numerous bounties. The Quran says, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Verily He is Most Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance. And He will increase you in wealth and children and bestow on you gardens and rivers." (Surah Nooh, verse 10 - 12)
