Thank You, President Obama. Love, Israel

Thank You, President Obama. Love, Israel

By Chris Ernesto

Dear President Obama,

July 12, 2014 - "Anti War" - We must confess, when you became President, some of us were a little worried that America’s "special relationship" with Israel would come to an end.

We were concerned that the United States would no longer provide money, weapons, and most importantly, diplomatic cover to Israel.

After all, Jimmy Carter – a former President from your own political party – has been highly critical of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. He even had the nerve to say that Hamas was democratically elected, and that our policy towards Palestine is worse than South African apartheid.

We were fearful that your passionate speech in Cairo in 2009 would make Muslims believe that an Obama presidency would be a neutral player in Israel’s fight against the terrorists from Palestine.

But, thankfully, through your actions as President, you have alleviated our anxieties.

Your unconditional support of Israel is on full display today. Because of your administration’s financial support of our Iron Dome weapon system, no Israelis have been killed in our surge on Gaza. And although we have already killed at least 100 Palestinians, including 21 children, and have wounded over 500 people, you have not publicly condemned our actions (thanks!).

On Thursday, you offered to negotiate a cease-fire between Israel and Palestine. Since you have repeatedly labeled Hamas a "terrorist organization" with whom you are unwilling to sit down, your offer to negotiate was pretty clever – maybe Palestinians won’t catch on to the fact that you are really on our side, and they will agree to have the US act as mediator. Fingers crossed.

We are thrilled, but not surprised by your absolute backing of Israel at present. You showed your true colors two years ago when you said you were "fully supportive" of Israel’s bombing of Gaza in 2012.

Clearly, you are wise enough to understand that American elections are greatly influenced by pro-Israel donors. For this wisdom we say, "thank you."

Of course, you will forever be in our debt for voting against Palestinian statehood in 2012. For you to take that stand – when virtually every other country in the world wanted to formally recognize Palestine as an independent nation – wow, that was gutsy, and because of your courage, Palestine today has fewer legal remedies.

You have continued to veto those frivolous United Nations resolutions that condemn the great State of Israel. How can we ever thank you enough for that?

You have remained relatively silent as Israeli settlements rightfully continue their expansion. You even said that you would abandon your push to stop settlement expansion.

And you have been very careful to never utter the words "collective punishment" in discussing our embargo on Gaza.

Few countries understand what it’s like to be Israeli or American. That’s why we have to stick together, like in 2010 when we were the only two countries to vote against ending the embargo on communist Cuba.

Many of us in Israel were previously concerned about all those pesky "Free Palestine" protesters in the US. But we’re not worried about them anymore because many of those same people continue to vote for you and other Democrats, thus insuring that Israel will be able to do as it so chooses.

We really appreciate your support of the coup in Egypt that ousted the Muslim Brotherhood from power. They were big supporters of Palestinians. As you know, Egypt’s new leader, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi believes Hamas is a terrorist organization and an offshoot of the Brotherhood, so we don’t have to worry about which side Egypt will be on in our fight against Palestinians.

We must say that we still have concerns about your support of neo-Nazis in Ukraine. As you know, we have a bad history with Nazis. But we understand your country’s desire to control Eurasia and to weaken Russia, so as long as you let Israel reap the benefits of the American Empire, we can let this one slide.

The fact that your presidency has continued to demonize Iran has been very beneficial to us. It’s been difficult for Israelis to get people to understand that Iran – even though they haven’t attacked another country in recent memory – is a serious threat to Israel. Sure, Iran knows we could nuke them, but they just want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth, so they don’t fear a nuclear reprisal.

And speaking of nuclear weapons, you sure helped Israeli officials sleep better when your administration announced that it would implement a "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy regarding our massive nuclear weapons arsenal.

Some people say that Israel is like the little brother who constantly runs his mouth and starts fights because he has a big brother who’s always there to bail him out of any trouble. Well, to that we say, thank you big brother. Others are just jealous.

We know that if the US criticized Israel the same way it criticizes Russia, Syria, Venezuela or Iran, the rest of the world would jump on board and force Israel to change. After all, the US is pretty much in full control of the UN, the IMF, the World Bank and NATO. That’s why we are particularly appreciative of your undying support of Israel.

It always warms our hearts when you say that Israel has the "right to defend itself" but you have never said that Palestinians have that same right. That really helps our cause.

In 2012 you signed a law increasing military aid to Israel just one day before your then-Presidential opponent Mitt Romney made a trip to the Holy Land. Some said it was a political ploy to prove that Democrats are just as "pro-Israel" as the Republicans. Nonsense, we say. You were just strengthening Israel’s already advanced weaponry. Just like when you secretly supplied us with bunker-buster bombs.

You provided cover for Israel in 2011 by saying we had the right to kill 20 Palestinian protesters who were commemorating the Nakba. When you praised our "restraint" on this matter, a potential firestorm was avoided, particularly because our government initially blamed the killings on Syria. Because of your support, we were able to acknowledge our role in the killings without fear of reprisal.

You will never know how many pro-Israel supporters you gained when you spoke at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) meeting in 2011. The crowd went wild when you said, "So make no mistake, we will maintain Israel’s qualitative military edge." That was huge.

We recognize the "little" things you do, too. Like how your administration tried to stymie an independent U.N. investigation into alleged Israeli war crimes during our 2008-2009 incursion into Gaza. Thanks to WikiLeaks, we in Israel learned of your valiant efforts.

And how you refused to accept the Palestinian unity deal, which brought Hamas and Fatah together. And you really made a statement when you withdrew the US from UNESCO in response to its approval of Palestine’s membership. We like it when you pound your fists on the table on behalf of Israel.

We were in a pickle when a UN probe said there was clear evidence to back prosecutions against Israel for killing and torture when our heroic troops stormed a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in 2010. The vote was 30-1, with your country, the US, as the lone dissenter. That’s a true friend.

Prior to you becoming President, some people in Israel confidently assured fellow citizens that you would be a deep supporter of Israeli interests. They believed this to be true because in 2008, just 12 hours after your victory in the Democratic Presidential primaries, you showed up at AIPAC wearing an Israel/US lapel pin, telling the crowd that you "understood the Zionist idea." Clearly this gesture was a quid-pro-quo with your pro-Israel donors, and was a way for you to prove that an Obama presidency would always put Israel at the top of its pecking order. That was a good move on your behalf.

And there were earlier signs of your unwavering support of Israel that we should have spotted. While you were just a Senator, you co-sponsored a Senate resolution demanding that the US do nothing to impede Israel’s military actions in Lebanon in 2006. That meant so much to us, because you ran the risk of appearing to be a "hawk" at a time when the people of the US were growing tired of the Bush administration’s foreign policy. You rolled the dice.

Well, your gamble has paid off, and you have achieved your political dreams, and at the same time you have made Israel quite happy.

For this, we say thank you. Because of you, your party, and the rest of the US government, Israel is free to act as it pleases. You, President Barack Obama, are the best friend Israel has ever had.

With warmest regards,
Israel

Does your Heart not Bleed - Oh Israel?

Does your Heart not Bleed - Oh Israel?

Do they not fear the Almighty? Scores of Palestinian Muslims, including many children, have been killed in the Gaza Strip after days of Israeli air raids on the besieged coastal sliver this Ramada.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said 550 people had been wounded since Israel launched its campaign in Gaza this week, which it claimed targeted Palestinians firing rockets into its territory.

At least 550 sites have been hit by Israeli jets, including Gaza City, Beit Hanoun and Khan Younis.

An Israeli air strike killed seven Palestinian civilians on Thursday, including five children, in the largest death toll from a single attack since the start of the three-day offensive, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Residents and medical officials said an Israeli air strike bombed at least two houses in a densely populated area near Khan Younis while residents were asleep, the Reuters news agency reported.

Bodies were pulled out of rubble from three or four homes including neighbouring structures. Another 16 people were also wounded in the attack, the ministry said.

Amidst the bombardment, Palestinians are still attempting to secure a few moments of normalcy to enjoy the fruits of the blessed month of Ramadan, just as their brethren in faith the world over.

Mahmud Abu Shamala is a teacher in the Occupied Gaza Strip. He told Cii Radio what it was like spending Ramadan to the cacophony of an Israeli aerial bombardment.

This is his story:

May I first wish you all a blessed and joyful Ramadan, the month of Barakah and happiness.

If you are living here in Gaza, you can expect to have a lot of difficulties and hardships in your life.

I will not talk about the siege or the shortage of electricity, fuel and medication. I will simply talk about the situation in Gaza at night, which is no different from the situation here in the morning, noon or throughout the day.

Since the beginning of this Israeli operation[Protective Edge], the Zionist State has been propagating that it has been targeting so-called terror targets, training camps, rocket launchers and the like. But if we look at the casualties, you will see that the majority of those killed are the children – below the age of 10. Then, you will find the women, and after that, you will discover the elderly.

The targets in truth are the civilian homes, which are inhabited. As you know, people all over the world consider their homes to be their own treasures. What about Gaza?

Well, if you have nowhere to go, nothing to do, no place to protect yourself – then, naturally, your home is your sole possession – your only place to go.

So they are attempting to kill our dreams, by killing us and also destroying our homes.

You ask me about the nights. Let me tell you.

We are living here, and I can tell you Ramadan is famous for its nights. Muslims around the world find this the ideal opportunity to draw close to Allah SWT.

They draw close to Allah SWT by reading the Quraan, they stand in Qiyaam, make fervent Duas to Allah SWT, give charity, dispense Zakaat – so much good happens.

Here in Gaza, people also spend the whole night giving Sadaqa(charity), but not with their money, but with their lives, their children, their families and their homes.

Last night, when people began to hope that the bombing will abate, and they could return to their homes, they did exactly that.

Just then, the Israelis bombed the Hamad family. Do you know what they did?

They bombed the home: They killed the husband, they killed the wife, they killed Asma, Subha, Mohammed and Ahmed, the four children. That’s six members of the family in total.

After that, the Israelis moved to kill another family in Rafah. Then they destroyed another 3 homes in our area. Wherever there is a land here in Gaza, they have bombed it.

Two masjids in Rafah, they have bombed. As I am speaking to you, I can hear the bombing.

I must tell you, as a father, you are very embarrassed in front of your children when the bombing starts. Because everytime they start bombing, you cannot do anything, you cannot sleep, you cannot even read the Noble Quraan. Do you know why?

You are constantly plagued with the questions: Am I going to live? Am I going to wake up in the morning? You realise that everyone in Gaza is a target.

They have unleashed 5 types of planes on us: Choppers, Helicopters, F-16′s, F-35′s and drones – all of which have come to kill us in Gaza, this small Gaza.

You spend the whole night listening to a bombing close to your home, another bombing close to your brothers home, another bombing you hear of on the radio, another bombing of a Masjid you have attended, another bombing of a land you very well know.

You will be sitting in darkness. In Gaza, you will not have electricity most of the time.

Whilst the world watches television, the nightmares and bloodshed plays itself out day and night in front of our eyes.

We see the bodies, the martyrs, the destruction. This is how we spend the night in Gaza, bombing after bombing, after bombing. Close, far, your home, your brother’s home, your sister’s home – everyone, even the buildings now are bleeding and crying in Gaza.

You are talking about a barbarian enemy who are far removed from any shred of humanity. They want to extinguish all life around you and put the Yaqeen in your heart that you do not belong in this land.

You may ask me: ‘You have been through all of this before. You witnessed wars in 2009 and 2012. Are you not used to this by now?’

What I can say is that the enemy has just become more barbaric. In 2009, they would call people before they bomb and shell their homes. In 2012, they would announce that people should evacuate. Now, there is nothing. They just bomb the house, regardless of whether there are few or many within it.

Now, they just want to kill…They are trying to kill the body, if they can’t kill the body they will kill the building, if they can’t kill the building they will kill the land, if they can’t kill the land, they will kill the sky, if they can’t kill the sky they will kill the animals.

You won’t believe me, a few days ago they ktargeted – guess what – 3000 chickens! Can you believe this?

5 days ago, they targeted 100 goats. Okay, if the Palestinian people are terrorists and launching rockets against the settlers, what do you have to tell me about the animals?

I am confident that Allah SWT is with us. And I know that you cannot run away from your destiny and your death. Everything is written and pre-ordained. We have to make sabr with our circumstances but also keep the trust and Yaqeen that victory is very near, Insha Allah.

Check The Label

Check The Label - Boycott Israeli Dates

We often check the ingredients on food packaging to decide if foods are good for our health and if they are halal. This campaign extends the concept to ‘check the label’ to ensure the dates we eat during Ramadhan are good for our body and soul!

Every year, Israel exports millions of pounds worth of dates to the world, which many people unknowingly buy and use to break their fasts. These dates are grown in illegal settlements in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, on land that has been stolen from Palestinians. By buying these dates, we are in fact helping Israel to continue its occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.
Ramadan is a time of year when we remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves. It is a time we feed ourselves spiritually. Therefore it would be an affront if at such a time we helped support
oppression buy buying these dates.

With your help over the past four years the 'check the label' campaign has grown significantly and we have had great successes due to your hard work, time and dedication. The campaign has gone to the heart of the communities in cities and towns across the UK to ensure no one buys these dates. However there is still a lot of work to be done.

We need your help to:
- distribute leaflets after prayers, especially after Jummah
- put up posters on your mosque notice board
- post up selfies holding the leaflet using #icheckthelabel
- Use #icheckthelabel
#icheckthelabel to stand with Palestinians
#icheckthelabel because it's the right thing to do
#icheckthelabel because I have a voice
#icheckthelabel because I have a voice and I'm going to use it
#icheckthelabel because I don't buy stolen goods #awkward
#icheckthelabel because I have a choice #yaffa #zaytoun
#icheckthelabel as I don't want to fund Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine
#icheckthelabel because I don't want Israel profiting from the occupation
#icheckthelabel so I'm doing my bit to end the occupation
#icheckthelabel because I am not a thief. I don't want to buy stolen goods

Order your campaign material now and get ready. Email admin@foa.org.uk with your address and the number of leaflets, poster and stickers you need. Please let us know which mosque you will distribute outside/put up a poster.

Martyr of Muhammad al-Durrah

Twelfth Anniversary of Martyr Muhammad al-Durrah's

Muhammad al-Durrah incident took place in the Gaza Strip on September 30, 2000, on the second day of the Second Intifada.

Muhammad's father, tried for in vain for 45 minutes to shield his 12-year-old son from gunfire as they crouched against a concrete wall near Netzarim in the Gaza Strip.
‘This was his sacrifice for our homeland, for Palestine’ Muhammad’s mother said.
The whole scene was caught on camera by 2 French cameramen.

The footage shows the boy's father, Jamal al-Durrah, waving desperately to Israeli troops, shouting: "Don't shoot". But the terrified boy is hit by four bullets, and collapses in his father's arms.

An ambulance driver who tried to rescue the boy and his father was also killed, and a second ambulance driver was wounded.

Muhammad was reported to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He had received a fatal wound to the abdomen, confirmed by pathologist Dr Abed El-Razeq El Masry.
During an emotional public funeral in the Bureij refugee camp that day, the boy was wrapped in a Palestinian flag.

Note: YouTube keeps on repeatedly eliminating any videos having to do with the Murder of the 12-year old Al-Durrah while keeping the distorted lies posted by Zionist lobby who have attempted to discredit the video.

Can u live with the death of Muhammad al Durrah and all those killed by the Israelis?
Will you continue to support the state of Israel and buy the products listed in the email sent to you earlier last week???
How big a sacrifice would it be to give up your Coca Cola & Nestle products?
Come on, enough apethetic consumerism. Now’s the time to make a stand!

On Palestine...

Did you Know?.. Facts - Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

1. Did you know that non-Jewish Israelis cannot buy or lease land in Israel? A Jew from any country in the world is guaranteed citizenship in Israel, while the Palestinians who have been there for centuries are oppressed and persecuted.

2. Did you know that instead of sewing an insignia on clothing to distinguish race, Palestinian license plates in Israel are color coded to distinguish Jews from non-Jews?

3. Did you know that East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights are all considered by the entire world community, including the United States and the United Nations, to be occupied territory and NOT part of the State of Israel?

4. Did you know that Israel allots 85% of the water resources for Jews, and the remaining 15% is divided among all Palestinians in the territories? For example in Hebron, 85% of the water is set aside for about 400 Jewish settlers, while the remaining 15% is distributed among Hebron's 120,000 Palestinians?

5. Did you know that the United States awards Israel $5 billion in aid each year from American tax dollars?

6. Did you know that US aid to Israel ($1.8 billion annually in military aid alone) exceeds the aid the US grants to the entire African continent?
This aid is used both to buy American weaponry and to buy arms made in Israel.

7. Did you know that Israel is awaiting an additional $4 billion worth of American military hardware, including new F-16s and Apache and Blackhawk helicopters. As Israel's main ally and supporter internationally, the United States is committed to maintaining the Jewish state's "qualitative edge" in weapons over its neighbors.

8. Did you know that the U.S. administration has notified Congress on numerous occasions that Israel has violated the rules on how US-supplied weapons are used? (In 1978, 1979 and 1982 during fighting in Lebanon, and once after Israel's bombing of an Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981.)

9. Did you know that Israel is the only country in the Middle East that refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections from its sites?

10. Did you know that high-ranking military officers in the Israeli Defense Forces have admitted publicly that unarmed prisoners of war have been summarily executed by the Israeli forces?

11. Did you know that Israel blew up an American diplomatic facility in Egypt and attacked a US warship in international waters (the USS Liberty), killing 33 and wounding 177 American sailors and the US did nothing about it? (Imagine if an Islamic country did this!)

12. Did you know that Israel stands in defiance of 69 United Nations
Security Council Resolutions?

13. Did you know that Israel is explicitly dedicated to the policy of maintaining a distinct Jewish character?

14. Did you know that Israel's current Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, was found by an Israeli court to be "personally and directly responsible" for the Sabra and Shatilla massacre in Lebanon where more than a thousand innocent Palestinian men, women, and children were axed to death or lined up and shot in cold blood?

15. Did you know that on May 20, 1990, a group of unarmed Palestinian laborers were lined up and murdered by an Israeli solider as they sat waiting for transportation back to Gaza? The terrified laborers who gathered in an area of southern Israel known as Rishon Lezion (known to Palestinians by its Arabic name Oyon Qara) handed their ID cards to the Israeli soldier. The soldiers ordered the distressed laborers to kneel down and face the ground and unexpectedly showered them with a barrage of bullets, killing seven and wounding many others. Needless to say, the soldier was not charged with any crime.

16. Did you know that until as recently as 1988, Israelis were permitted to run "Jews Only" job ads?

17. Did you know that the Israeli Foreign Ministry pays six US public relations firms to promote a "positive image" of Israel to the American public?

18. Did you know that Sharon's coalition government includes a party--Molodet--which advocates ethnic cleansing by openly calling for the forced expulsion of all Palestinians from the occupied territories?

19. Did you know that recently-declassified documents indicate that David Ben-Gurion approved of the forced expulsion of Arabs from all Palestininan territory in 1948?

20. Did you know that the former chief rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Ovadia Yossef, who is also a founder and spiritual leader of the religious Shas party (Israel's third largest political party) openly advocates a 'Final Solution' to annihilate the Palestinians? Speaking at the widely broadcast sermon marking the last Passover, he declared of the Palestinians: "The Lord shall return their deeds on their own heads, waste their seed and exterminate them, devastate them and vanish them from this world. It is forbidden to be merciful to them. You must send missiles to them and annihilate them. They are evil and damnable."

21. Did you know that Palestinian refugees make up the largest portion of the refugee population in the world?

22. Did you know that Palestinian Christians are considered the "living stones" of Christianity because they are the direct descendants of the disciples of Jesus Christ? And the Palestinian Christians stand united with their Muslim brethren in the struggle against the Israeli occupation.

23. Did you know that despite a ban on torture by Israel's High Court of Justice, torture has continued unabated by Shin Bet interrogators on Palestinian prisoners?

24. Did you know that despite every Israeli attempt to disrupt Palestinian education, Palestinians have the highest ratio of PhDs per capita in the world?

25. Did you know that the right of self-determination is guaranteed to every human being under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights [December,1948], yet Palestinians were/are expected to negotiate for this right under the Oslo Accords?

26. Did you know that despite what is widely perpetuated and written in the history books that the Arabs attacked Israel in the 1967 war, it was Israel who attacked the Arab countries first, capturing Jerusalem and the West Bank, and called the attack a pre-emptive strike?

27. Did you know that, as an occupying power, Israel has a particular responsibility under the Geneva Conventions to protect Palestinian civilians?

28. Did you know that, despite Ariel Sharon's public call for a unilateral ceasefire, Israeli soldiers have not stopped shooting, killing or bulldozing Palestinian homes? The most recent example of this is the murder of three innocent women who were shot by an Israeli tank as they sat in their tent!

29. Did you know that the Zionists have been trying to destroy Masjid al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock for the last 50 years by digging underground tunnels beneath the sites to weaken its foundation causing it to collapse?

30. Did you know that the majority of Muslims have been sleeping for the past 50 years and have been unaware of most of the above facts?
NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!

How many more women, need to loose their children, husbands and even their own lives. How many more cruelties and violations of Human Rights, Regulations and International Law will be needed to intervene so this ongoing warcrime is being stopped once and for all?

Christiano Ronaldo donates to the Palestinian children in Gaza

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, Most Merciful May Greetings and Salutations of Peace be upon the Most Beloved of Allah, Muhammad Sallalahu `alaihi wasallam

As-Salaamu-Alaikum

Real Madrid forward Christiano Ronaldo has donated 2,400 euros ($3,273) to Palestinian children in Gaza, the Arabic site of the club's 'Classico' network has revealed.

Ronaldo gave away sports shoes to the foundation, which in turn sold the boots at a public auction and will now dedicate the funds to schools in Gaza.

According to the network, bidding began at 700 euros ($954) and was finally concluded at 2,400 euros.

During his spell at Manchester United, Ronaldo was photographed wearing the Palestinian head cover, the kufiyyeh, which was seen as support for the Palestinian cause.

'No matter how softly we whisper a prayer, ALLAH surely listens and knows the hopes & fears we carry in our hearts. For when we trust HIM, our Dua'as will definitely be answered!'
