Jummah Mubarak

As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh

The best Greeting there could ever be.

Did you wake up this morning and say "As-Salaamu Alaikum" to your spouse or your child? Or did you greet them with a "Good Morning" or even a casual "hi"?
Have we been teaching our children the importance of greeting each other with salaam? Or when we see them off to school, do we send them off with a 'bye', instead of "As-Salaamu Alaikum", the dua for peace and blessings?
For some of us, this may seem a minor issue. Or it may even be a 'progressive' issue. But, in our haste to 'adapt', we forget that saying "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the best greeting there could ever be.

This was the practice and teaching of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam), the best example for mankind. And it was Allaah Himself that prescribed the manner of greeting among Muslims as "As-Salaamu Alaikum" [not 'salaams' or 'good morning' or 'hey' or 'hi' or whatever]
"When those who believe in Our Ayaat (proofs, verses, signs, etc.) come to you, say: "Salaamun Alaikum" (peace be on you)....." (Surah al-An'aam:54)
Ibn al-Qayyim says:
"Allaah, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Peace, prescribed that the greeting among the people of Islam should be 'As-Salaamu Alaikum', which is better than all the greetings of other nations which include impossible ideas or lies, such as saying, 'May you live for a thousand years,' or things that are not accurate, such as 'An'im sabaahan (Good morning),' or actions that are not right, such as bowing in greeting. Thus the greeting of salaam is better than all of these, because it has the meaning of safety which is life, without which nothing else can be achieved...." (Badaa'i' al-Fawaa'id)

"As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the best Dua
The word 'salaam' comes from the root 'salema', which implies to disassociate oneself from evil and harm. Thus, when we greet other Muslims, the greeting means: "No harm shall come to you from me (may no evil come to you, may no harm come to you)
And since As-Salaam is also one of the Beautiful Names of Allah, the greeting of salaam also means, "May the blessing of His Name descend upon you, may Allah be with you, may Allah guide and protect you."
Subhaan Allah! What a beautiful greeting!
Yet, it is utterly tragic to see that some of us have exchanged something so beautiful for something ugly, when we stopped saying Assalaamu Alaikum and started with 'Good Morning' or 'Hi'. It is especially sad to see some of our youth, who don't even know how to say the words clearly and properly. Some say ' Saa kum", some just mumble something incomprehensible under their breath and some don't even bother to say anything at all! And if they are being really nice to you, they just might throw you a 'hey' from afar.
And even those of us who do say salaam, some of us are so stingy or hesitant in doing so. Although, at the time of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) the Sahaabah would compete with each other to see who could give salaams first. They would go to the market just to say salaam to people they knew and to the people they did not know.
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "The best of the two persons is the one who begins with salaam." (Related by an-Nawawi)

BENEFITS OF "AS-SALAAMU ALAIKUM"

1."As-Salaamu Alaikum" is a means of immense reward
A man passed by the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) while he was sitting with others, and said "As-salaamu 'alaykum." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] ten hasanaat." Another man passed by and said "As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah)." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] twenty hasanaat." Another man passed by and said "As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah and His blessings)." The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, "[He will have] thirty hasanaat."

2."As-Salaamu Alaikum" is an aspect of Imaan
Once a man asked the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) about which aspect of Islam was best. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) replied: "Feeding the hungry, and saying salaam to those you know and those you don't know." (Bukhaari and Muslim)

3. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is a means of entering Jannah
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you about something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread salaam (the greeting of peace) among you." (Muslim)

4. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" gets rid of sins
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) also said, "When two Muslims meet (give salaam), and shake hands, they are forgiven their sins before they part (with each other)." (Abu Dawud)

5. "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the greeting of the people of Jannah
"Then, those that feared their Lord shall be driven in companies into Paradise. When they draw near its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say to them: "Salaamun 'Alaikum" (Peace be upon you), you have done well. Enter and live in it for ever." (Surah Zumar:73)

6. Even Allah says "As-Salaamu Alaikum"
Allah sends His Salaam upon the people who believe in Him, especially the prophets such as Nuh, Ibraheem, Ismaeel, Musa, etc.(Surah as- Saa ffaat) as well as other pious people.
Jibreel came to house of the Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) and Khadeeja was there. Jibreel said: "Allah send s his salaam to Khadeeja." The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "O Khadeeja, Allah is sending His salaams to you." She said, "Allah is As-Salaam. And upon you O Jibreel, be as-salaam and upon you Rasulullah be as-salaam." [Bukhaari]

It is obligatory to return the greeting of "As-Salaamu Alaikum"
"The Muslim has five rights over his fellow-Muslim: he should return his salaams, visit him when he is sick, attend his funeral, accept his invitation, and pray for mercy for him [say "Yar ha'mu kallaah"] when he sneezes." (Bukhaari, Muslim)
We should say "As-Salaamu Alaikum" when we enter our homes
"When you enter houses, greet (with peace) one another with a salutation from Allah, blessed and good. As such Allah makes clear to you His verses so that you understand." (Surah an-Nur: 61)

"As-Salaamu Alaikum" is also to be said at time of leaving
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "When one of you joins a gathering, he should greet those present; and when he leaves them he should salute them, because the first salutation is not better than the last one." (Abu Dawud and Tirmidi)

Why would you want to give up something beautiful for something ugly??
It is sad to see that when it comes to the matters of Dunya, we strive our utmost to give our families and friends the best. Yet when it comes to greetings, we forget the most beautiful and comprehensive greeting "As-Salaamu Alaikum", which is also a prayer....a prayer of peace and blessing...of security and protection from all harm and all evil.....a blessing that Allah Himself send s down to His beloved slaves......a greeting of the people of Jannah itself.

The Two Farewells of a Woman

Every woman is seen off from her home on two occasions. Once when she leaves her parents' home to get married, and the second time when she leaves her home in this world to travel to her abode in the hereafter.

Each girl grows up knowing that her parents, home is not her permanent home and that she will one day have to bid her family farewell to settle in her own home. If only all young girls would wait in anticipation for and dream about their second farewell as much as they do for the first. If only they would prepare for the second one as much as they do for the first. if only each parent would mentally and physically prepare their daughters for the second departure as much as they do for the first. Although the reality is that we should prepare for the second far more than the first, for our eternal fate depends on how well we are received when we reach our final destination.

Consider the following:

*During the first farewell, there is a great anxiety about whether or not the husband-to-be will be happy with her. Whereas for the second journey we have to worry whether or not Allah will be pleased with what He sees.

*Before the first journey the girl will take a long bath to beautify herself, whereas for the second she will be bathed by others.

*During the first journey she takes a grand trousseau with her, whereas the trousseau for the second journey is nothing but righteous deeds.

*She will share her joy with every woman present at her first farewell, whereas during the second one she will be all alone.

*During her first farewell she is dressed in the most expensive of outfits to please her husband, whereas the dress that will beautify and adorn her for the second journey is the the attire of "Taqwa".

*Invitations are handed out to celebrate the auspicious event of her Wedding. here Allah Himself invites her to Jannah. And Allah invites towards the abode of peace." (Al-Quraan)

*For her arrival, her new home in this world is decorated. For her arrival in Jannah Allaah decorates Jannah such that "no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, nor has such beauty ever crossed anyone's imagination" (Hadeeth).

*On the occasion of a wedding, the hosts welcome the guests. Imagine a celebration in Jannah, where the host is Allah and we are the guests! Imagine being welcomed by Allah, while the angels also greet us.

*When we attend a wedding we are given appetizers. When we enter Jannah each person will be given a piece of bread as an appetizer that will encapsulate all the flavours of the world.

*If the husband is happy with her, the first night the woman spends with him is most cherished, and she never ever has nor will enjoy such blissful sleep as she does on the night of her wedding. Similarly, if Allah is happy with us when we journey to Him, the Hadeeth states that the person is told in his/her grave "Sleep in the (peaceful/blissful) manner that a bride does."

*If she is not accepted at her first home in the world, there is always the option of retuning to the sanctuary of her parents' home where she will be taken care of. There could even be a second chance to build a new home. Whereas if we are not accepted in the court of Allah after the second farewell, there is no other place of refuge and no second chance.

Ponder O sister! Which farewell should we concern ourselves with more.

Hadith

Ever wondered why the “older generation” said that “kinders moet Maghrib in die huis wees en die huis se deure moet toegemaak wees” ? Read below for the explanation.

The hadeeth "When the wings of the night spread , keep your children in, for the devils come out at that time" is a saheeh hadeeth

We have grown up being told that at Maghrib time children should not go out to play as this is the time the Jinn and shayatine come out and that they will poses any children playing out side. Is there any basis to this?.

Praise be to Allah.

Yes, a number of saheeh ahaadeeth were narrated concerning this etiquette. For example, it is narrated from Jaabir ibn 'Abd-Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"When the wings of the night spread or when evening comes keep your children in, for the devils come out at that time. Then when part of the night has passed, let them go. And close the doors and mention the name of Allah, for the shaytaan does not open a closed door. And tie up your water skins and mention the name of Allah, and cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even if you only put something over them, and extinguish your lamps."

Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3280) and Muslim (2012).

Al-Nawawi included this in a chapter entitled Chapter on covering vessels, tying up water skins, locking doors, mentioning the name of Allah over them, extinguishing fires and lamps when going to sleep, and keeping children and livestock in after Maghrib.

Muslim (2013) also narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not let your animals and children go out when the sun has set, until the first part of the night is over, for the devils come out when the sun sets, until the first part of the night is over."

Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) said concerning the first hadeeth:

"The wings of the night" refers to when night comes after the sun has set.

The words "then let them go" Ibn al-Jawzi said: Rather there is fear for children at that hour, because the najaasah that the shayaateen seek is usually present with them at that time, and the dhikr that would protect them is usually absent from children, and when the shayaateen spread out they hang on to whatever they can hang on to. Hence there is fear for children at that time.

The reason why they spread out at that time is that they are more able to move about at night than during the day, because darkness is more conducive to devil forces coming together than any other time. End quote.

Fath al-Baari, 6/341

al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

This hadeeth includes a number of types of goodness and etiquette which combine the interests of both this world and the Hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) enjoined these etiquettes which are the cause of safety from the harm of the shaytaan, and Allah has made all of these means causes of being safe from his harm. He is not able to uncover vessels or untie waterskins or open doors or harm children or others if these means are followed. This is like what it says in the saheeh hadeeth, that if a person says Bismillah when entering his house, the shaytaan says "No place to stay" i.e., we have no authority to stay overnight with these people. And if a man says when having intercourse with his wife, "O Allah, keep the shaytaan away from us and keep the shaytaan away from what You bestow upon us (of offspring)," that will be a cause of the child being kept safe from the harm of the shaytaan. This is similar to this hadeeth, which is well known among saheeh ahaadeeth.

This hadeeth encourages us to remember Allah in these cases and other similar situations. Our companions said: It is mustahabb to mention the name of Allah over everything that matters, and to praise Allah at the beginning of everything that matters, because of the well known hasan hadeeth.

The words "wings of the night" is a well known phrase that refers to the darkness of the night. And it was said that it refers to when the darkness of night comes.

The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) "Keep your children in" mean: prevent them from going out at that time.

The words "for the devils come out at that time" mean that there is the fear at this time that children may be subjected to the devils' harm because there are so many of them at that time. And Allah knows best. End quote.

Sharh Muslim (13/185).

The Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas was asked the following question:

In the saheeh hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari, it says: "When the wings of the night spread, or when evening comes, keep your children in." Then it says: "And extinguish your lamps." Does this command mean that it is obligatory? If it is mustahabb, what is the evidence to show that it is not obligatory?

They replied: The commands mentioned in this hadeeth are to be understood as recommendations and advice, according to most scholars, as was stated by a number of scholars, such as Ibn Muflih in al-Furoo' (1/132), al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar in Fath al-Baari (11/97). And Allah knows best.

A Must Read...

AS-SALAAMU-ALAIKUM

THIS YOU HAVE TO READ, TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT THIS!!!!

We praise Allah for the bounties He bestows upon us and for giving us the best gift of all, Imaan, we also send Durood and Greeting upon the best of creation, Nabi Muhammed (S.A.W). I ask Allah to accept this advice that I give firstly unto myself as a reminder, then to my readers. The following ahadith are of somewhat importance to us as Muslims yet unfortunately we don't treat them as such, IF YOU HAVE NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO THE PREVIOUS AHADITH, I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT U SAVE THIS AND FORWARD TO ALL!!

HADITH:
Remember death as it cuts short all pleasures of the Dunyah.

SUMMARY:
Attending a Janaazah on Jummah made me realise how sudden death is and also if we are truly prepared for it, now that sounds like a contradiction, I know, but think about it for a minute, if we could only see into what death holds for us, or the life of the grave(which is the world u enter into after your life on death upon waiting for judgement day), then we would become a much better aabid(worshipper.)

Another hadith states :if animals had knowledge about death as we do, you won't get a healthy animal for eating as they will pine away in fear of death.! Ya Allah, the torment of death , my beloved brothers and sisters is awaiting all of us , i type this with shivers as i am so afraid , we sin so much every day, we lie, we abandon Allah and the sunnah, where does our fate lie?

Hadhrat Ayesha (ra) has said that when Nabi(SAW) was dying, laying next to him was a glass of water and constantly he would dip his hand into and moisten his face with water and prayed to Allah to relieve him from the agonies of death Now I'm really worried, if the Nabi (SAW) of Allah , who was sinless , also experienced the pangs of death, my dear reader, can u imagine what torture lies in store for us??

Someone once asked a Sahabah, to explain the process of when the rooh(soul) is being extracted from the body, a reply was that it is as if taking satin and pulling across thorns, as it rips, such is the comparison.

Hadith states : if we knew about the punishment of the grave then we would not want to bury our deceased. Allahu Akbar, if death is already such a hardship for insaan (man), how will we bear athaabul qabr?(torment of the grave)

Once a very wise moulana was explaining to us at a taaliem that when a woman giving birth and going into labour, those pains are not even a percent of the pain when experienced at death.

Can we afford not to think about death?

Allah says in the Qura'an: every soul shall have a taste of death. Oh my beloved reader, what do u think our deaths will taste like? We are living in an age whereby vices and evils are at its peak, Islam is only practised when its convenient and Allah is only sought when in difficulty, i ask u once more, will we be ready to leave when maalikul mout (angel of death) comes to fetch us?

Will we now perform our Salaahs on time? will we now give the 2.5% zakaah as we are supposed to, will we now stop going to clubs, drinking and taking drugs? Will we now stop committing zinnah and conforming to ideologies of the kuffaar and enemies of Islam, that will only drag us deeper in to the pits of hell??

Hadith says : if u remember death at least 20 times and night and day, you will die as a martyr. The Nabi (SAW) said recite the Dua'a: oh Allah grant us blessings at the time of death and after death and whoever recites it 25 times a day, he gets the death of a Shahid (martyr).

Death is inevitable, a Muslim or any human for that matter, our lives only begins after death, for our actions here in this world determines where we will bring forth the remainder of our existence. THE ONLY GUARANTEE U HAVE IN LIFE IS DEATH. LIFE'S BIGGEST SECRET IS DEATH.

Let us not live with the mistake that we are still young, and will reform ourselves when we get older or when we marry, let us not wait for Ramadhan to come to become punctual in our duties unto Allah. I ask Allah to accept this, i ask u to read this and ponder over it, how many of our beloved were here for last Ramadhan but is not here for the upcoming one? Let us cry unto Allah to forgive us for our sins, let us be what we were made for, let us be Muslims and let us fulfill our purpose of existence , to worship Allah in its entirety. Make Dua'a for the deceased , that Allah forgives them and alleviates the punishment
of the grave, let Allah fill their qabrs (graves) with nur (light) and let they be granted Jannah, Aameen

I pray that we all use this and inform others, kindly remember my family, our marhoomeen(the deceased) and the Ummah at large in your special Dua'as ~ Aameen, Ya Rabbal Aalameen

Muslimah's who know the Qura'an

The Woman Who Corrected a Judge

Sheikh Abul Wafa narrates that there was a Hanafi judge who would seperate witnesses when he was in doubt regarding their testimony (so that each witness could not hear the others testimony). One day a man and two women came before him as witnesses in a matter wherein women had to serve as witnesses. As was his procedure, he intended to separate the two women. However, one of the women addressed him saying : "You have made an error because Allah Ta'ala says in the Qura'an : "So that one could remind the other." When you have separated one from the other the Shar'i purpose enshrined in this verse will not be met."

Upon this, the judge did not follow his usual procedure. (At-Tazkirah)

The Slave Girl Who Deciphered the Clue

One day Ma'moon became quite angry with Taahir Ibn Abdullah, his millitary commander, and decided to recall him to have him killed. Now, Taahir had a friend who heard of this and sent a letter to him. The letter was very brief. It contained the words "As Salaam" and in the margin the words
"O Moosa."

When Taahir read it he began pondering over its meaning but could not manage to understand it.

However, his intelligent slave girl, explained the meaning to him : "O Moosa, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you to kill you." So, be careful about Ma'moon."

She had understood that the words "O Moosa" were an abreviation used to secretly convey the message referred to in Surah Qasas, verse 20.

Tahir then ensured that he did not go near Ma'mun until the issue was sorted out. (Muhadharat al-Udaba)

The Pious Woman Who Explained the Verses of Hijaab

Aasim Al-Ahwal narrates : We went to Hafsa Bint Sireen. As we entered she drew her jilbaab over her face as a niqaab (to cover her face from us).

We said to her : "May Allah have mercy on you! Allah mentions in the Quran : "And as for those women who are past childbearing age who do not desire to marry, there is no sin on them if they discard their outer clothing in such a way that they do not reveal their adornment." This refers to the jilbaab."

She then asked us: "What is mentioned after this verse?"

We replied : "But to refrain (not to discard their outer clothing) is better for them."

She then explained : "This is proof of wearing the jilbaab." (Sifatus Safwah)

Love her...when she spends hours to get ready. She only wants to look her best for you.
Love her...when she buys you gifts you don't like. Smile and tell her its what you've always wanted.

Love her...when she cries for absolutely nothing. Don't ask, tell her its going to be okay

Love her...when she suffers from PMS. Buy chocolate, rub her feet and just chat to her (trust me this works!)
Love her...when whatever you do is not pleasing. It happens and will pass

Love her...when she stains your clothes. You needed a new shirt anyway

All these things form part of a woman's character.

Jannah...

If a person makes Dua'a for Jannah three times, Jannah requests Allah that, O Allah; make his entry into Jannah.
And if a person makes Dua'a for safety from Jahannum three times, the Jahannnum requests Allah that,
O Allah; save him from Jahannum.

Daily Wisdom

Do not reveal to friends all the secrets you possess; they may one day become enemies. Do not inflict on enemies every injury in your power; they may one day become friends.
-Sadi, "Gulistan"

Those who show compassion to the weak, treat parents gently, and pardon the enslaved shall be granted an easy death and the delights of Paradise.
-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Ja'bir bin Abd'Allah

The Merciful is kind to those who are merciful. If you show compassion to your fellow creatures in this world, then those in heaven shall be compassionate toward you.
-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as narrated by Abd'Allah bin Amr

When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) reached the Grand Mosque, most of the population was at the entrance, eager to look at Him. As He went in, He threw the end of his cloak over His left shoulder, leaving His right arm free. He declared, "May Allah (swt) have mercy on the man who today shows the people he is strong." Then he walked round the Kaa'ba, kissing each side, and finally kissing the black stone. After a short pause he went round the Kaa'ba three times, and walked around it a further three times.

What are your Opinions??

I COULD HAVE ANNIHILATED ALL THE JEWS IN THE WORLD, BUT I LEFT SOME OF THEM SO YOU WILL KNOW WHY I WAS KILLING THEM .... ADOLPH HITLER. (MEIN KAMPF)

I came across this...hmm tell me what are your thoughts on this

The Sahaabah (Companions) of Rasulullah Sallahu Alayhi Wassallam

People who saw NABI Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam or stayed in his company, embraced ISLAM and died as MUSLIMS are known as SAHAABAH. Singular: Sahaabi - Plural: Sahaabah.

Any person who was in the companionship or saw NABI Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam for even a very little while is a Sahaabi provided he or she died a MUSLIM.

1. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam mentioned: "All the Sahabaah are just and pious and whomsoever amongst them you shall follow, you shall be guided."

2. The highest rank amongst the Sahaabah is that of Sayyadina ABU BAKR RA. His position is superior to the entire Ummah (followers) of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam untill the day of QIYAAMAH. Next in rank is Sayyadina UMAR bin KHATTAB RA. Thereafter is the position of Sayyadina UTHMAN RA, and then Sayyadina ALI RA. Thereafter the position of the other Sahaabah is best known by ALLAH TA'ALA alone.

3. Amongst the Sahaabah is a group of TEN Companions regarding whom NABI Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam gave the glad tiding of JANNAH (Paradise). These are known as the ASHARA-AL-MUBASHSHARAH (the ten who have been given the glad tidings of JANNAT).

They are:-

1. Sayyadina Abu Bakr RA.

2. Sayyadina Omar RA.

3. Sayyadina Osman RA.

4. Sayyadina Ali RA.

5. Sayyadina Talha RA.

6. Sayyadina Zubair RA.

7. Sayyadina Abdur Rahman bin Auf RA.

8. Sayyadina Saad bin abi Waqqas RA.

9. Sayyadina Saeed bin Jubair RA.

10. Sayyadina Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah RA.

It is from the Sahaabah that the world learnt the DEEN of ISLAM. It is from them that we established the SHARIAH and obtained the SUNNAH of our NABI Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam. A non-Sahabi is not equal in rank to the LOWEST Sahaabi, even though the non-Sahaabi may be the greatest WALI (pious friend of Allah).

It is COMPULSORY to show respect to all the Sahaabah, and ABSTAIN from speaking ill and criticizing the noble Sahaabah of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam.

Ribah Qaysi's Wife

Leading Ladies: who made a difference in the lives of others

She was known for spending much of the night in prayer. In the early parts of the night she would begin to pray. She would wake her husband, but if he didn’t wake up she would pray. Sometime later she would try again, but if he failed to wake, she would pray. And again, some time later she would try again.

Sometimes she picked up straw from the ground and would say, "By Allah, I regard the worldly vanities less than this". Occasionally she would dress in a shiny dress at night and ask her husband if he wanted her company (intimacy) in bed - the times he would say no, she would resort to prayer instead.

Known for her commitment to Islam, she would frequently fast, and it is reported that she performed hajj over 30 times. The scholar Imam Shafi, is said to have learned and been taught from her. Imam Shafi thought so much of her that he stated in his would that he wanted his funeral procession to pass by her home - and when it passed by her home she prayed the funeral prayer. She passed during the month of Ramadan whilst reciting the Qura’an.

Disunity Amongst Muslims...

I'm so glad I am a Muslim! Truly no religion rewards its people more! Allahu Akbar! Subhanallah! Allhamdulillah!

It is so easy to gain sawaab!!!!!!!

  1. I say a simple 'salaam' to someone (instead of 'hi'), I'm rewarded!
  2. I smile at some one, I'm rewarded!
  3. I say, 'sallallahualyhiwassalum' every time I hear the name of our Prophet, I'm rewarded ten times for each one time!
  4. I pray in masjid, I'm 27 times rewarded.
  5. If I could not go to masjid, I pray with my family members (not alone), I'm 27 times rewarded.
